In the cold weather, children are prone to respiratory infections, such as colds, tonsillitis, acute pharyngitis and so on. If the infection is not effectively controlled in time, it is possible to induce nephrotic syndrome after 1~4 weeks.
There are many causes of nephrotic syndrome in children. When a cold comes, the immune cells in the body eat and invade the body's bacteria and viruses, form an antibody, and then die, to achieve the function of eliminating germs, to ensure that the body is not affected. Because the child weak immune cells were less than normal, the immune function is not strong, so the immune cells not only sometimes devour germs, only temporarily put bacteria contained, bacteria and germs in the body of the antibody itself with an immune complex, with the blood circulation to the kidneys, the basement membrane will deposition of glomeruli, and a damage to the kidney, the loss of a large number of proteins, resulting in nephrotic syndrome.
Nephrotic syndrome can occur at any age but more occurs in young people and children. The age of onset of minimal change nephrotic syndrome is more common in children aged 2~6 years. Usually, 1~4 weeks after infection. Generally speaking, children with nephrotic syndrome have the symptoms of early infection, which are characterized by high edema, high proteinuria, hypercholesterolemia and hypoproteinemia. In the cold after 1 to 4 weeks, lower limbs, head and torso may have swollen, especially loose parts is more obvious, the most obvious is the earliest is eyelid, severe edema of skin is thin and translucent, hydrothorax, ascites, skin slightly damaged will seepage. Some children and pregnant women can appear similar skin white stripes or purple lines in the medial thigh and upper arm, abdomen and chest; urine volume decreased, urinalysis 3~4 plus proteinuria, a large number of proteins from urine loss become the main cause of hypoalbuminemia.
Nephrotic syndrome has a longer course and is prone to recurrent attacks. Standard treatments should be maintained for 1 and a half years to 2 years. During the nursing, to prevent colds, children should not eat more salt food and high protein. Children's activities should be strictly restricted. Clothes should not be worn for a long time. Not appropriate to reduce or stop drug. In addition, we should pay attention to the child's urine at ordinary times. If the child's urine color changes, we should promptly send the urine to the hospital for examination.
